Rain+Dirt= gourmet food

I don't have to tell anyone who lives in the NE we've had a lot of rain this month. There is definitely a love-hate relationship with the rain when you have kids.
It's cute to watch them stomp in rain puddles in their galoshes and catch rain drops on their tongue. It's NOT so cute watching them walk through the mud in their brand new sneakers and track it all over the house.
I love how the rain makes all the colors of spring look deep and rich. I DON'T LOVE unloading groceries in it.
I love the soundof pitter patter on the windows at night. I DON'T LOVE how the pitter patter wakes up sleeping babies.
And Finally, I really DON'T LOVE it when Wyatt makes a bee-line right for the mud "pit" each time he goes outside and without hesitation eats it.

I thought after he tried mud once he'd spit it out and never attempt again. OH how wrong I was. Mud is like a gourmet food to a 1 year old boy....my little boy anyway.
I can't say he does this just because he's a boy...but I can't rule it out either.
So my plea for the rain is this:
Rain Rain go Away and don't come back until Wyatt is old enough to realize there are better things to eat than mud. And hurry before he catches any worms.
