T.G.I.M?
Yes-you read it right. I'm probably the only one in the world that feels this way-or I at least I think I am. I know it sounds a little awkward and maybe even backwards but believe me the weekend is no picnic around here when my husband is in season and gone Friday-Sunday. Weekend mornings start before the sun comes up- only because I make a point to tell all the children "sleep in tomorrow- it's Saturday". Reverse psychology works earlier that I thought because in their mind that means "Wake up before the sun". I can't ignore them either....There's NO sleeping through a terradactyl scream. As I'm prying my eyes open with toothpicks- the babies are ready for their first of many meals. Before I know it I'm changing diapers-sweeping up cereal and mopping up dribbles of milk ALL over the floor. The seemingly endless weekend consists of hourly complaints of hunger and boredom from any or all of my four darlings. Since the weather still stinks...we're trapped inside. There's no real nap for the babies with the sounds of stomping-screaming-tent building-jump roping and loud movies downstairs. Guess how many times I say "BE QUIET"? Wrong....add 20. Crafts only last so long-so back to the "I'm hungry" demand. I recall at some point I was curled up on the couch with my eyes shut tight as possible holding my hands over my ears to escape for just a moment (2 minutes). It only lasted for 1. So-you read right....Thank Goodness for Monday. Paul is back-the girls are in school and babies back on schedule. Now I can get some rest.
