Annual Valentines Day Tree

It's February, which means it's time to break out the Valentines Day Decor.

If you know me, or my Mom and Grandmother, you know we love holiday decorations. I don't just mean Christmas....but EVERY holiday.

I slowly collect pieces for each holiday, or I'll acquire a whole box full if it's coming from my grandmother.

A few years ago I bought a small Red Christmas tree specifically for Valentines Day.

Each year the girls will make new ornaments to hang on it. The or first year we made play dough hearts: red, purple, pink.

Last year we made hearts out of pink, purple, and white pipe cleaners.
Yesterday I pulled out my Cricket (paper cutter for scrappers) and cut different shapes the girls requested: fat hearts, thin hearts, poodles, puppies and kittens. The girls picked out the paper from my stash and found different stickers,
glitter and ribbons to decorate them.

Voila.....our New Valentines Day Tree.

We made a few extra to hang on the mirrors around the house.

I love seeing their creative side when making decorations. I love seeing the pride they have once the tree is decorated and how they've transformed our home from Blah to Wow.

The simple traditions we have now may change in time, but I will always cherish the time we spend together making a brighter, happier, more colorful home.
