When I was in my early twenties nearly every job I applied for required a "detailed oriented person". I of course classified myself as such...who wouldn't? It wasn't until I had children that I became less detail oriented and more of a "big picture" person.
For example:
Today I planned a trip to Sam's club. I had the card- the check card -snacks for the kids -the list -and of course the kids. We set off for the 25 minute ride. Twenty minutes into the drive Paul looked back at Lillian only to find she was not buckled in.
I managed to get all the kids in the car(Big Picture) I just forgot to buckle them in (Details).
I have many more examples but I'll spare what's left of my pride.
So years from now when I'm back trying to climb the corporate ladder I'm hoping someone will be looking for a Big Picture person.
If So I'm your girl.
